The Deal on Poker Cruises

Have you been fantasizing about your dream vacation? A getaway that includes soaking up the sun in a tropical paradise, enjoying first class amenities as you cruise the Caribbean in luxury, and getting in on some fantastic poker action to boot? Then it's time to start packing because Carnival Cruise Line's PokerKruise is ready to set sail.

PokerKruise hosts, Steve Frezer and Jesse Petrakis, have served as tournament directors in major poker events all over the world including the European Poker Tour championships in Monte Carlo and France, the Party Poker Million, and many others. Together, they have assembled an all-star team of poker professionals and staff. Several PokerKruise dealers have made nationally televised appearances in such venues as the World Poker Tour, the World Series of Poker, the Party Poker Million, and the European Poker Tour. "We have recruited only the best of the best to work our cruises," said Steve Frezer. "We want to provide the most professionally run poker room on land or sea."

In addition to the world-class staff, PokerKruise offers a wide variety of tournament and live action poker. From beginning player to seasoned pro, everyone will find action to suit his or her taste. Live action games include Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha High Only, and 7 Card Stud. Limits for the games are $2-$4, $4-$8, $10-$20, $20-$40, pot limit, and no limit. The house of course, is prepared for any limit or game that a cruise guest desires.

To kick off each dream cruise, all guests are invited to a Welcome Aboard Free-Roll Tournament. But the real excitement starts on each of the three days at sea with No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournaments. Buy-ins on days 1 and 2 for the tournaments are $100 and $200. On day 3, the final tournament buy-in is determined by a player vote. In addition to tournament play, there are nightly promotions and giveaways offering free hats and T-shirts, shore excursions, and cash prizes.

But poker is only the start. PokerKruise vacations provide the opportunity to experience all the frills of a luxury cruise. Meal options are endless (and free). You can dress up and socialize with other passengers in the main dining room or order room services and watch a movie in your cabin. For those guests who prefer casual dining on their own schedules, a sinfully excessive buffet along with deck side BBQs are always serving up mouthwatering fare. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks must be purchased. Nightlife options abound as well. You can take your pick from comedy clubs, magic and game shows, and live music and dancing in several lounges and clubs. On port days, guests can take a walking tour of the area while they shop and sightsee. For water enthusiasts, snorkeling, scuba diving, and white water rafting are available.
